HAMLIN, Circuit Judge. Frederick Elmo Thompson, Jr., appellant herein, was charged in an indictment filed in the United States District Court for
the District of Nevada with three counts of violation of 18 U.S.C. § 2314. In Count I of the indictment he was charged with
a violation of the first paragraph of section 2314 which provides punishment for "whoever transports in interstate or foreign
commerce any goods, wares, merchandise, securities or money of the value of $5,000 or more, knowing the same to have been
stolen, converted or taken by fraud * * *."
